The Diablo Octane Tour fairway woods have smaller footprints and traditional hosels that inspire confidence at address.Designed to maximize power, Callaway's all-stainless-steel Diablo Octane Tour fairway woods produce a remarkably consistent ball flight whether off the tee or from the fairway.
The Diablo Octane Tour line--which are available in 13-, 15-, and 18-degree lofts--is distinguished by a heat-treated stainless-steel construction for enhanced strength, along with an aggressive Variable Face Thickness (VFT) pattern. The combination produces a pleasing, resonant sound at impact, so each shot just feels right. The clubs' VFT technology is a key factor. With each club, Callaway precisely varied the internal thickness of the face to increase the size of the sweet spot. This generates hotter ball speeds and longer distances, a must for longer course setups.
These particular Diablo Octane clubs are Tour models (the company also sells Standard versions). Standard models have larger footprints with a higher moment of inertia (MOI) and a deep center of gravity (CG), encouraging better playability and higher trajectories. Tour models, by contrast, have smaller footprints, traditional hosels that inspire confidence at address, and a highly workable feel, with low, penetrating trajectories. Callaway's Tour models are designed for more accomplished golfers, with features that provide greater versatility to attack the course with precision shot-shaping and trajectory control.
